Blacks ruin Fourth of July in Baltimore; media censor race

Since late last night (July 4), another unremarkable story with no race angle at all has been floating around the Internet. The Baltimore Sun has one of the earliest reports: “Man stabbed to death, child shot in Inner Harbor after fireworks.”

Violence erupted in separate locations of the Inner Harbor Monday night despite a heavy police presence for the holiday, with a child shot in the leg and a man fatally stabbed shortly after the fireworks ended.

…

Earlier in the day, a man in his 20s was shot twice inside a parking garage around 2 a.m. after a long-running feud was reignited. He survived the attack.

This violence was “a significant disappointment” for Baltimore police, whose “elaborate July Fourth safety plan… involved several hundred state and city officers patrolling Baltimore’s streets, monitoring surveillance cameras and tracking one another via GPS signals.” In fact, Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III was so confident in his planning,

[he] held a news conference Monday evening to quell fears that the downtown area was dangerous, telling reporters that arrests were imminent in the morning incident and that he believed there were “sufficient resources” in place to secure the Inner Harbor for the Independence Day celebration.

Oops.

The story does not mention race, so for example, the stabbing victim was an “adult male,” who got into a confrontation with a “group of individuals”; two more “individuals” fell into the water and were rescued by the BPD Marine Unit; “several juveniles” were arrested for carrying knives; and police enforced the curfew by clearing “young people” off the streets after 11 pm.

Tonight (July 5), WRBL News reports that “a photo of the suspect in the killing was taken by cellphone” and “city officials were hoping to quickly capture the suspect,” yet the photo is neither shown nor described. In particular, the story does not mention race. The Baltimore Business Journal is similarly uninformative.

The Baltimore Sun’s follow-up includes a video in which Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake (who is black) condemns “these people who engage in these terrible and senseless acts of violence” as cowards whose behavior will not be tolerated. Neither the story nor the video mentions race. However, the video does briefly display a photo of the suspect. WBAL has more photos (below), plus a video of a large number of African Americans “celebrating” the Fourth of July in a not-unthreatening manner.

One witness reports a “moving mob” (or something kind of like it).

Jean Holzhueter, who lives within walking distance of the Inner Harbor, has attended the New Year’s and Independence Day fireworks for many years, but she said that Monday was the first time she felt unsafe during the festivities. … “It was kind of like a moving mob,” Holzhueter said. Although police responded quickly, she said, Holzhueter was afraid she would be pushed into the water by the expanding crowd. “It was just scary how fast it grew.”

Fortunately, a man who gets paid to make Baltimore look good sets us straight.

Added Bill Gilmore of the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts: “You need to march along. You can’t let an incident like this deter your Independence Day celebrations. You can’t let the actions of a few people affect the good work and entertainment of the public at large.”

Reporting is sooooo much work

Let us apply our usual racist trick: search Twitter for “harbor, black” and other interesting combinations of words (e.g. “somebody got stabbed at the harbor”) to see what the mainstream media could not be bothered to report.

Here are just a few of the hundreds of relevant tweets I found from the night in question, not including re-tweets. I’ll keep it simple: name, race, time, and tweet. Notice how early people (well, black people) detected trouble (from black people). For comparison, the stabbing occurred shortly after 10 pm (ABC2) and first aired on the 11 pm news.

There are hundreds more like this from the same night, all saying basically the same thing:

1. the Inner Harbor was full of black people last night
2. the black people started fighting, one of them stabbed someone to death, and one of them shot a child
3. point 2 is disappointing, but not surprising, given point 1

In a way, this is good news. Many ordinary black people — unlike their leaders and unlike most white people — are willing to say what we should all be thinking: black people, compared to white people, are innately violent and criminal, and you can’t put too many of them in the same place without someone getting killed. Harsh, I know, but this is the only theory that fits the data.

When the media won’t tell you the facts about black crime, go straight to the source: black people who are fed up with it themselves.

Florida cop-killers: a pattern emerges (Florida, part 5)

Happy Independence Day.

Besides the three (white) cops shot to death (by blacks) in St. Petersburg in early 2011, at least four other Florida police officers have been shot and killed since June 2010.

Just days before the violent, child-abusing black sex offender Hydra Lacy Jr. killed Sergeant Tom Baitinger and Officer Jeffrey Yaslowitz, two Miami-Dade detectives, Roger Castillo (41, 23-year veteran, married father of three) and Amanda Haworth (44, 21-year veteran, single mother of one) were killed in a shootout with violent, drug-dealing black fugitive Johnny Simms (Miami Herald, January 20, January 20; NBC Miami, January 21; Miami New Times, January 21).

Simms had a long criminal history, according to the Miami Herald (January 20):

In October 2005 and December 2005, Simms was arrested for separate armed robberies, one with a pistol and the second with a rifle. Prosecutors did not file charges in either case.

In 2007, Simms… went to state prison for a different 2005 armed robbery and auto theft. He was released in February 2009 on probation.

Simms violated his probation when he was again arrested in June 2010, this time for robbery with a deadly weapon and selling cocaine. He pleaded guilty and Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Julio Jimenez sentenced him to one year in prison plus five years’ probation.

But Simms served only one month because he had earned credit for time served earlier in a Miami-Dade jail. He was released in September 2010 on five years of court-mandated “administrative probation,” a low-level form of supervision that does not require regular check-ins with authorities.

Simms hadn’t been out a month before he was again implicated in a violent act.

According to Miami homicide detectives, Simms shot and killed Cornelious Larry, 27, on Oct. 16 in the parking lot of an Overtown apartment complex, 1535 NW First Pl.

Simms had been on the lam since.

The police finally tracked him down in Liberty City.

Castillo’s and Haworth’s squad, wearing body armor labeled “Police,” were dispatched to a duplex at 6112 NW Sixth Ct., in a gritty section of Liberty City just west of Interstate 95.

… [T]he detectives knocked on the door, and Simms’ mother let them inside.

Just inside the living room, investigators believe, Simms jumped out of another room, firing his gun.

Haworth was shot in the head inside the home. Beecher was not hit. Castillo was shot dead just outside, in the walkway.

Plasencia, who had been behind the duplex, ran back around and — under fire — shot Simms dead in front of the door.

Well, that’s what we get for giving the blacks Liberty (City).

Black man accused of writing a bad check and murdering five people

One year ago, on June 29, Tampa Police Officers David Curtis (31, three years on the job, married father of four) and Jeffrey Kocab (31, one year on the job, survived by his pregnant wife) were shot and killed by Dontae Morris during a traffic stop (St. Petersburg Times, June 11).

According to the St. Petersburg Times, Morris, now in custody, is accused of murdering a total of five people.

Morris ambushed Derek Anderson at his doorstep when he returned home from doing his laundry on May 18, 2010, apparently because Anderson had argued with him on a basketball court earlier in the day. The night Morris killed the police officers, he believed he was wanted for Anderson’s murder.

Morris killed Rodney “Scarface” Jones outside the Cotton Club bar in West Tampa on May 31, 2010, partly for money, partly for revenge. Jones had flashed thick wads of cash during an oldies karaoke show that night. But detectives said Jones also had once held Morris at gunpoint during a drug ripoff, leaving him stranded on a roadside.

Morris killed drug dealer Harold Wright on June 8, 2010, because Wright was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Wright delivered drugs to Morris for another dealer who was the intended target. Morris decided to kill Wright anyway to “send a message” to the dealer who hadn’t shown up.

According to detectives,

Morris killed Tampa police Officers Jeffrey Kocab and David Curtis during a traffic stop on June 29, 2010, because he thought they were about to arrest him for murder. He was wrong. They wanted to arrest him on a bad-check warrant.

…

No [murder] warrant existed. But detectives said Morris told Price he “had to shoot the officers to get away.” According to Price, when Curtis and Kocab asked Morris to step from the car, he pulled a gun from under the seat and fired point-blank at both officers.

He told Price, “I shot those crackers.”

“I shot those crackers,” said the “nigger.”

How many of you are more upset about the N-word than you are about the two dead “crackers” and the murderer’s clear racial bias?

Two St. Pete cops die putting down wild animal (Florida, part 4)

St. Petersburg, Florida: where the only thing more dangerous than black thugs are the politicians who cover for them.

Officer David Crawford’s death on February 21 came less than a month after two other SPPD officers, 14-year veteran Sergeant Tom Baitinger (48, married) and 11-year veteran Officer Jeffrey Yaslowitz (39, married, father of three) were killed in a shootout with registered sex offender Hydra Lacy Jr. (St. Petersburg Times via Miami Herald, January 24; FOX, January 24).

Lacy was wanted for aggravated battery and two other felonies. He had previously been sentenced to 15 years for sexual battery with a weapon or force, five years for false imprisonment and aggravated child abuse, and five years for battery on a law enforcement officer. When police entered the house he was hiding in (having absconded from his known address), Lacy opened fire from the attic, beginning a ten-hour standoff which ended with a bulldozer demolishing the building to reveal his corpse.

I don’t have a precise scale for measuring the worth of a human being, but if Baitinger and Yaslowitz’s lives averaged out to, say, 115 points, then Hydra Lacy Jr.’s was worth approximately zero. If a speeding train were about to crush a hundred million Hydra Lacy Jr.’s to death, and I had ten seconds to divert the train to kill one white SPPD cop instead, I would check my text messages.

Pompous black former police chief skips three cops’ funerals but attends cop-killer’s

St. Petersburg’s first and only black chief of police was a man named Goliath Davis III, Ph.D. (If you ever wondered how blacks who aren’t into bling manage to look ridiculous while trying to seem important…) He held the title from 1997 until 2001, when he retired and became deputy mayor for economic development in Midtown (a black ghetto), a pointless position for which he received $150,000 per year (St. Petersburg Times via tampabay.com, October 5 2009) —

— until he was fired for decidedly vague reasons by Mayor Bill Foster (who also investigates cops for citing crime stats) just two weeks after Crawford’s shooting. Goliath Davis III, Ph.D. claims he got fired just because he skipped the funerals for Sergeant Baitinger and Officers Yaslowitz and Crawford — all shot to death by blacks in the preceding six weeks — and attended the funeral for cop-killer Hydra Lacy Jr. instead, for which Lacy’s family publicly thanked him (TBO, March 4; WTSP, February 10).

I’m not suggesting we should ship all the blacks back to Africa — that would just be crazy — but maybe we should consider it in the case of Goliath Davis III, Ph.D.

Since Goliath Davis III, Ph.D. is black, other blacks, and the politicians who pander to them, will brook no criticism of him or his horrible decisions. After his firing, the St. Petersburg Times ran a revealing article, “Firing of Goliath Davis leaves St. Petersburg more divided” (via TBO, March 7). Per Unamusement Park policy, I have noted race wherever it is relevant, which is to say everywhere.

Whatever Goliath Davis III [who is black] chose to do when it came to attending the funerals of the fallen [white] St. Petersburg police officers and [black] killer Hydra Lacy Jr., he needed to ask an important question: What’s best in helping heal and unite the entire community? [But really only the black “community” counts.]

…

However, [white] Mayor Bill Foster clumsily handled Davis’ dismissal, failing to offer assurances that his administration would continue to address Midtown [black] issues.

Meaning he failed to immediately appoint another black to City Hall.

The firing may have been more palatable to the black community if Foster had spent his first year grooming other [black] leaders in his administration who could be new conduits at City Hall.

Called it.

Black State Rep./crackhead stands by cop-killer supporter, worried City Hall will be too white

Black State Representative and former crackhead Darryl Rouson was concerned by Davis’ firing (TBO, March 4): what if it meant more white people in city hall?

Rouson said he’s concerned now for black leadership in city government.

“I don’t want to see a bleached [white] city hall,” he said.

In reality, blacks make up 22 percent of the city’s population and 27 percent of city staff according to payroll records. We should be worried about a darkened City Hall, not a bleached one.

You can read about Rousson’s past in the St. Petersburg Times (via tampabay.com, September 21, 2008):

Rouson’s hometown connections [meaning race], outgoing personality [meaning race] and grass roots activism [meaning race] have helped him. But his critics take umbrage at the seeming ease with which he sidesteps controversies and obstacles [because of his race].

…

He was reprimanded by the Florida Bar for snooping through an opposing counsel’s files during a courtroom recess in 2000.

…

But Rouson’s darkest story is the one that has defined his political career: a 19-year [crack] cocaine addiction that began when he was a law student at the University of Florida.

…

He addresses poor black neighborhoods with street slang, then drives his Mercedes to his 5,469-square-foot home in greater Pinellas Point.

…

Four years ago, Rouson walked into the Purple Haze Tobacco and Accessories Shop on 34th St S and asked for a pipe to smoke crack. When he was asked to leave, he walked behind a display counter and allegedly shook it.

…

A jury convicted Rouson of misdemeanor trespassing, but others praised him.

“It took real courage to really push that aggressively against people who were clearly selling drug paraphernalia,” said council member Karl Nurse, who paid Rouson’s fine. “That’s a rare commodity in politics.”

City Councilman Karl Nurse and Rousson were two of the five top city officials at St. Pete’s secret June crime summit. Nice to see pals sticking together.

You’ve seen the bad. Now for the just plain crazy:

[Rousson] once chained himself to a chair at City Hall when officials didn’t hire him as their first black bond attorney. He has called for the secession of [black ghetto] Midtown and criticized Baker’s polices there.

When a Tampa radio host sought to expose Davis’ evident support for black cop killers and disdain for white police, Rousson — whose personal history, again, includes “drug addiction, bankruptcy, divorce, homelessness, civil disobedience,” and “professional misconduct” (St. Petersburg Times via tampabay.com, September 21, 2008), none of which should be particularly surprising individually, given that he’s black — said the jock’s questions should be dismissed, calling him “a bumbling idiot” (St. Petersburg Times via tampabay.com, February 8).

Yes, more fanatical race loyalty from the historically (and genetically) disadvantaged race that brought you a 96 percent approval rating for Obama, Obama’s contempt for white cops, a standing ovation for a black gang that ambushed and hospitalized a white student, and of course black jurors who won’t convict black rapists and murderers (you know, the “niggers” you’ve heard so much about?), at least not if the victim was white.

Mayor: for victims’ sake, cops must not give victims advice (Florida, part 2)

Investigating a model cop for telling the truth about crime: insane? Yes, says Bob Esposito, father of a (white, female) victim of armed robbery:

“I’m shocked,” Esposito said. “His job is to serve and protect, and as far as I’m concerned, he gave me information. I think he did his job. I think he did it very well.”

No, says the (white) mayor of St. Petersburg (WTSP, July 1):

Mayor Bill Foster acknowledged the incident and said he holds SPPD to the highest standard.

“I always want to know my officers are representing this city in a very positive light,” Foster said.

…

“(SPPD) is performing at a very high level,” Foster said. “Do I tout statistics when I’m out in the public? No, because we have too many victims.”

The logic will be familiar to those who followed our coverage of media censorship in the wake of recent black mob violence in Chicago. If white people knew just how likely they were to be attacked by blacks, they might start to worry about being attacked by blacks, which would be racist, which would be the worst thing in the world. So you cops better keep your damn mouths shut! Lie, if you have to. Just make sure no one ever sees the color of crime —

— until it’s too late.

Downtown St. Pete’s property crime rate is 55 percent

One month before Officer Crisco’s run-in with the Mayor’s office, a study based on FBI crime statistics ranked downtown St. Petersburg (guess who lives there) as the eighth most dangerous neighborhood in the nation for property crime (WTSP, June 1). At a rate of 55.4 percent, most neighborhood residents are expected to become victims of property crime over the next year. How do you think the city government reacted to the news, given their policy of “representing this city in a very positive light”?

City officials say they question the studies credibility and are researching how the survey came up with their results.

Two weeks later, City Councilman Karl Nurse, County Commissioner Ken Welch, and State Rep. Darryl Rouson (three of St. Pete’s most powerful leaders) called Mayor Foster and Police Chief Chuck Harmon to “a secret meeting” to discuss “the city’s perceived crime problem” (WTSP, June 15):

Rouson [a former crackhead who wants white people out of city hall — more on that later] said either the city’s improving crime stats were wrong or Harmon needed to do a better job of handling the negative perception.

What prompted the summit? The city’s 11th murder of 2011, matching the total number of murders in 2010, and including three (white) SPPD cops killed in the line of duty. To his credit, Police Chief Harmon did not skip their funerals, unlike (black) former Police Chief Goliath Davis III, Ph.D., who nevertheless found time to pay his respects to the family of one of their (black) killers — more on that later.

Which brings us back to Officer Crisco’s “fallen partner.”

Hope for Chicago: Furious White People

This is an unusual post, in that I’m going to let readers do most of the talking. To be precise: readers of NBC Chicago’s local news.

Recently, I covered Chicago’s wave of Black mob violence in early June, and how the media tried to justify censoring race. Mainly by shaming Whites for daring to notice Black people behaving badly, as it turns out. Yesterday, I thought it was safe to move on to Black mob violence in another city.

Apparently I was wrong.

Today (Tuesday, June 28), NBC Chicago ran a story with the intriguing title “Woman Believes Beach Violence Covered Up” (with video). It’s awfully popular for local news. The day’s second most-read local story, “Lura Lynn Died With Ryan By Her Side,” currently boasts 16 comments and 111 Facebook recommendations, but 0 Tweets. “Woman Believes Beach Violence Covered Up,” on the other hand, has 80 comments, 350 recommendations, and 103 Tweets, and those numbers are steadily rising. According to NBC’s clever little emotional response meter, 92 percent of readers are “furious.”

Gee guys, what’s all the fuss about?

The complaint

On Memorial Day Weekend (May 28–29), Chicago resident Amy Schwartz called 911 with this complaint:

There’s a fight breaking out on the beach because there’s nothing but animals covering this beach today. What the hell is going on?

So what the hell was going on? According to NBC Chicago,

Schwartz said she was walking from Oak Street Beach toward North Avenue Beach on Memorial Day when she witnessed a woman being beaten by a gang of people on the beach.

“They were being rude and abusive and throwing trash around and defecating,” Schwartz said. “The crowd became very animated. They were cheering on the beating and more people joined in, so I kept walking forward. I was afraid I could be next.” [NBC, June 28.]

Confirmed cases of attacking packs of Blacks were reported just a few days later. It raises an interesting question: did police close the beach because of yet another Black mob?

No. They did it because it was sooooooo hot.

Both [Police Superintendent] Garry McCarthy and [Mayor] Rahm Emanuel have said the people suffering from heat exhaustion was the only reason for closing the beach. A city spokesman says the violence calls were handled promptly, and deny there’s any attempt to spin the facts.

…

“There were other calls that I heard on the tapes reporting the same incident I saw,” Schwartz said. …

Police presence has been boosted significantly at the beach since Memorial Day. [NBC, June 28.]

Here’s a map of the walk Ms. Schwarz was taking when she witnessed the alleged violence. Not far from her starting point, to the south and southeast, you’ll find the 300 block of East Chicago Avenue, the 700 block of North Lake Shore Drive, and the bike path just south of Chicago Avenue. Why are these locations of interest? Because that’s where a mob of 15–20 Black teenagers beat up and robbed a 33-year-old White insurance salesman; a 68-year-old oncologist, Dr. Jack Singer (race censored); a 42-year-old Japanese oncologist; 20-year-old bicyclist Ryan Dacumos (race censored); and one more victim about whom little has been reported (CBS, June 5; Chicago Tribune, June 6).

The reaction

Monroe Anderson (who is Black) objects:

Maurice Moshe Eisenstein, Associate Professor of Political Science at Purdue University Calumet, has clearly been following the news with a critical eye:

Jeffrey Shultz, a “Top Commenter” (whatever that means), has an interesting question I myself may have posed once or twice before:

Hey, Monroe… Why is it that “as a result of high unemployment, bad schools and the War on Drugs, crime is rampant in far too many parts of the black community” and not the “white community” or the “Asian community” or the “Jewish community”? Now THAT’S the question you should be asking yourself and those trolls who run Chicago/Detroit/Philadelphia?FlashMobCityofChoice — assuming you really want the answer.

Jeff Stanch, a realtor, has a parsimonious explanation for Black failure:

Black Flash Mob in Cleveland Heights; cleveland.com Refuses to Report Race

At cleveland.com (via Stuff Black People Don’t Like), we find a curiously undescriptive story: “Reports mixed on extent of unrest Sunday at Cleveland Heights street fair.”

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — About 40 Cleveland Heights police officers had to control a crowd of unruly teenagers in the last hour of the Coventry Street Arts Fair Sunday [June 26, 2011], an event [that] closes Coventry Road every summer from Mayfield Road to Euclid Heights Boulevard.

The teens, who other kids said were from “all over the place — Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights — were starting fights, screaming and throwing punches in the crowded streets, according to witnesses and shop owners.

Sarah Corcoran, 21, of Cleveland Heights, said she saw about 75 people run through the street, some yelling, just before the fair was scheduled to end at 6 p.m. Police showed up shortly after to clear the streets.

There is no mention of race anywhere in the article. Later, the story was updated to include “[s]ocial network reactions.”

The comments below, mostly from Twitter.com, are only a portion of the chatter over about 7 hours Sunday evening — many others were left off the list because of offensive language.

The tweets start at 7:44 pm on Sunday with WFNYCraig asking:

What happened at the Coventry street fair? I was there earlier in the day, but I see it trending. What did I miss?

Someone give this man a job with the Chicago Tribune! He is on the ball. Anyway, the tweets continued until 9:09 am today (Monday June 27), when Its_ChrisSteez got the last word:

Coventry Shook Too Hard Yesterday.

None of these tweets mention race.

(I’m not suggesting any of these people were actually involved in the mob.)

Saturday: Preparations

As early as 4:09 pm on Saturday (June 25) — the day before the “unrest” — Thick_ASS_Jass (who happens to be African-American) complained:

At 7:51 pm, Look_ItsTreMilz promised the following, which was re-tweeted by uniquebre17:

“Everybody” is going to be there — except their “black [asses].” Yes, once again, both happen to be African-American. Actually, from now on, everyone mentioned is African-American unless I specifically state otherwise.

At 10:09 pm, My_FreshAss issued the following stern directive, re-tweeted by IAm_Dnell and CheeksONTresure (all of whom, if you’ve been paying attention, are implicitly African-American):

Well, there you have it: what cleveland.com couldn’t be bothered to report. The “unrest” at the Coventry Street Arts Fair on Sunday was yet another Black flash mob. Once again, Blacks are running wild in the streets, and the mainstream media simply refuse to report it. Don’t believe me? Watch Fox8’s video and ask yourself: is there any adjective that could be used to describe these “unruly teenagers”?

Wondering how the mainstream media will manage to justify this bit of censorship? Well, they won’t have to, unless you — the readers and viewers and listeners — complain about it.

Black Mobs Hit Chicago; Tribune: Why Aren’t You Worried About Seventh Day Adventists?

Chicago is under attack by “packs” (source) of “wild” (source) Blacks, and the Chicago Tribune thinks you’re racist for noticing. This will be my sixth and final post on the subject. Previously:

I’ve saved the best — by which I mean worst — race denialist article for last. Steve Chapman’s “Race and the ‘flash mob’ attacks” (rating: 1.5 stars) is fully dedicated to shaming White readers for noticing Black criminality. It is almost beyond parody.

Almost.

Here’s my question about the teenagers who have been attacking and robbing people on North Michigan Avenue in recent days: Were they Christians? And if so, what denomination? Baptist? Catholic? Seventh Day Adventist?

Those may sound like ridiculous questions. But so is the question raised by many Tribune readers about our coverage: Why aren’t we mentioning that the culprits are black?

Mm. Let us delve into the thought process at work here.

• Proposition 1: Black people, and only Black people, are responsible for the assaults and robberies.
• Proposition 2: They target White people.
• Proposition 3: The attacks are characterized by extreme, senseless violence.
• Proposition 4: None of Propositions 1–3 are true if you replace “Black” by “Christian” — let alone “Baptist,” “Catholic,” or “Seventh Day Adventist” — or replace “White” by anything but “White.” They are evidently not targeting the old or the young, men or women, the rich or the poor; they’re not attacking whoever happens to be close by (no “crimes of opportunity” here); and they’re sure as hell not coming after some other racial or ethnic group.
• Proposition 5: Propositions 1–4 are further strong evidence for an ongoing epidemic of racially motivated Black-on-White violence.
• Proposition 6: Tribune readers want to be safe from violence, racially motivated or otherwise.
• Proposition 7: Being aware of Propositions 1–4 would help White readers avoid racially motivated violence (by Proposition 5).
• Proposition 8: The Tribune refuses to report Propositions 1–4.

Given Propositions 6 and 7, Mr. Chapman is astonished to discover that White readers are complaining about Proposition 8. Why aren’t they complaining about Seventh Day Adventist mobs, a problem which clearly doesn’t exist (by Proposition 4), rather than a problem which clearly does exist (by Propositions 1–3)? “Ridiculous,” he says.

Chapman is full of it: you can’t be a reporter and be stupid enough to believe the parable of the Seventh Day Adventist mobs. (Not unless you’re an affirmative action hire.) The real reason the news media refuse to report Propositions 1–4 is that they inevitably lead to Proposition 5: the recognition of an epidemic of racially motivated Black-on-White violence. Now why would that recognition that be a bad thing? Well, here for comparison is the Tribune’s argument:

• Proposition 1: Black people, and only Black people, are responsible for the assaults and robberies.
• Proposition 2: They target White people.
• Proposition 3: The attacks are characterized by extreme, senseless violence.
• Proposition 4: None of Propositions 1–3 are true if you replace “Black” by “Christian” or replace “White” by anything but “White.”
• Proposition 5: Propositions 1–4 are further strong evidence for an ongoing epidemic of racially motivated Black-on-White violence.
• Assumption X: Black people couldn’t possibly be more criminal/more racist/less intelligent/etc. than White people.
• Assumption Y: Racism against Black people is the worst thing in the whole world.
• Proposition 6b: If the Tribune reports Propositions 1–4, readers will believe there is an ongoing epidemic of racially motivated Black-on-White violence (by Proposition 5).
• Proposition 7b: Believing negative things about Black people is racism, because it can’t possible be true (by Assumption X).
• Proposition 8b: The Tribune must not report Propositions 1–4 (by Propositions 6b and 7b, and Assumption Y).

The rest of Chapman’s article may now be efficiently rebutted.

There are good reasons not to identify the attackers by race. It’s the newspaper’s sound general policy not to mention race in a story, whether about crime or anything else, unless it has some clear relevance to the topic.

My rebuttal: Propositions 6 and 7.

If a reporter goes out and interviews people about the weather, would it make sense for the story to say, “Joe Smith, who is black, is hoping for a cool front”? If a pedestrian gets run over by a bicyclist, should the story mention that the rider was white?

My rebuttal: Proposition 5.

In the attack coverage, what difference does race make, unless police are putting out descriptions or sketches in hopes of getting tips from witnesses? Getting beat up for your iPad, I suspect, feels about the same regardless of the color of the thieves. Police don’t seem to think victims were targeted because of their race.

My rebuttal: Propositions 5, 6, and 7, plus the following maps, showing how far some of these “thieves” — these senselessly violent packs of up to 20 “thieves” — had to travel to find their victims: map 1 (five mob attacks, by 15–20, around Streeterville; felony robbery and mob action), map 2 (two mob attacks, by 15–20, downtown; felony aggravated battery in a public place and mob action), map 3 (same).

Also, how surprising that in a city where asking why the newspapers won’t report the race of Black criminals is considered racist, the police aren’t saying that Blacks might be targeting Whites because of their race. Who could have predicted such a thing.

And what good would it do to trumpet the skin color of the thugs? So pedestrians on Michigan Avenue can run away when they see two or more African-Americans? Lots of black adolescents and young adults can be found on the Magnificent Mile on any given day. I’d guess at least 95 percent of them are harmless.

My response: Propositions 6 and 7. Also, mentioning race is not the same as trumpeting it.

My question to readers accusing us of political correctness is: Why do you care so much about the attackers’ race? If you fear or dislike blacks, I suppose it would confirm your prejudice. But otherwise, it tells you nothing useful.

My response: go fuck yourself, Steve Chapman (by Propositions 7 and 8).

Once Again, Black People Are More Criminal Than White People

Here I go again.

Aside from correcting typos, this will be the last update of my flyer “Black People Are More Criminal Than White People.” You may notice that some figures have changed. This time, I used the NCVS demographic data, not the Census demographic data, when calculating crime rates from the NCVS crime data. This is the appropriate choice, and it reveals that I underestimated Black criminality in versions 1–3. Also, the crimes covered by the flyer are more specific; for example, simple assault is now separate from aggravated assault. (Aggravated assault shows a bigger Black-White crime gap; usually the gap increases with the violence of the crime, robbery being one notable exception.) In short, wherever version 4 disagrees with the other versions, version 4 should be considered accurate.

One Week in Chicago

If anyone knows any additional information about these attacks, or has a correction to my report, please leave a comment or email me.

Chicago is under attack by “packs” (source) of “wild” Blacks (source), and the Chicago Tribune thinks you’re racist for noticing. Before I get to my final critique of the Tribune’s strict policy of not reporting facts when they make Black people look bad, I think it would be wise to review those facts. I don’t want you to think I’m exaggerating the problem, or over-reacting to the violence.

According to the available evidence (which is scarce, because the mainstream media suppress it), the following attacks were all committed by young Blacks (mostly male) in Chicago between the mornings of Wednesday, June 1 and Thursday, June 9 (I know, it’s eight days, not one week — psh) and every victim was White or (rarely) Asian.

Wednesday–Sunday: Five pepper spray attacks in Lakeview

According to CBS, a “group of robbers” (operating mostly in pairs) in the “trendy Lakeview neighborhood” are using pepper spray to disable their victims (mostly young women) before robbing them. Four such robberies occurred in just two days — 27-year-old woman, a 21-year-old woman, a 19-year-old woman, and a 25-year-old man — followed shortly by a fifth attack, on a 61-year-old woman. They were all “knocked to the ground and personal property was forcibly removed.”

Newspapers will not report the races of the victims, but interestingly enough, the Lakeview neighborhood is 79.5 percent White and 4.4 percent Black.

On June 3, CBS Chicago reported that

[t]he robbers are described as African-American men between the ages of 18 and 30, standing 5 feet 5 to 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing between 150 to 200 pounds. They all have black hair and a dark complexion, and were seen wearing T-shirts and blue jeans.

Strangely enough, by June 5, the newspaper had forgotten their race:

[t]he suspects were described as being males between the ages of 18 and 30, about 175 pounds, and are 5-foot-5 to 6-foot-3 in height. They have dark complexions, black hair and were wearing t-shirts and blue jeans, according to the alert.

Saturday: Four mob attacks around Streeterville

A mob of 15 to 20 “young men” traveled up to 13 miles at least to attack and rob five people in an area of town once considered completely safe. Note that a gang of fifteen teenagers, or for that matter five teenagers, does not need to beat up a 68-year-old oncologist to convince him to hand over his wallet and phone. Nor did they need to beat up a 42-year-old oncologist moments later. This truly is senseless violence. As the Tribune puts it:

Saturday night’s attacks were senseless and over the top. How many young men does it take to relieve a single unsuspecting citizen of his iPod? The victims all were punched and beaten repeatedly; one was hit in the face with a baseball. The take: a handful of electronic toys, a bicycle, a wallet.

Newspapers will not report the races of the victims. One was definitely White, one was Japanese, and I have a hunch that if any of them were Black, we’d be hearing all about it, and how these mobs couldn’t possibly be targeting White people.

According to CBS Chicago, Northwestern University’s alert described the perpetrators as “a group of 15 to 20 men, all approximately 16 to 20 years old and black.” And here are three of the six “young men” charged in connection with the attacks; in their case, charged as adults with felony robbery and mob action.

Sunday: Two mob attacks on city buses

“In two separate incidents, as many as 15 teens have stormed Chicago Transit Authority buses, attacked their victims and darted off with cell phones and other electronic devices,” according to NBC.

In the first attack… a victim was struck multiple times before the thieves ran off with his cell phone. About 25 minutes later, near South Racine Avenue and West 13th Street, a student said he was sitting on a No. 12 bus when as many as 15 black boys and young men boarded the bus without paying. The student was hit in the back of his head with a glass bottle and was robbed of his iPod, said UIC [University of Illinois at Chicago] police.

Again, 15 teens do not need to strike their victim multiple times to obtain his cell phone. They don’t need to hit a student in the back of the head with a glass bottle to get a hold of his iPod. Senseless violence.

Newspapers will not report the races of the victims.

Here are two of the three “teens” charged in connection with the second attack. The “teen” on the left is charged with aggravated battery in a public place, armed robbery, felony unlawful use of a weapon, and two misdemeanors; the “teen” on the right is charged with aggravated battery in a public place and armed robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Tuesday: Two mob attacks downtown

“A mob of about 15 to 20 youths reportedly beat and robbed two people downtown,” according to NBC. According to a witness: “We get there, [the victim was] coughing up blood, his face is like really bloody and he’s all, ‘Oh, they just stole $350 from me.'”

Newspapers will not report the races of the victims, but one commenter thinks he has identified the real problem: “People need to put their cell phones and ipods/ipads away while walking down the street. This will continue to happen until people pay attention.”

Here are two of the three “youths” charged in connection with the attacks: Marcus Clark (left) lives 7 miles away from the scene of the crime, and Keith Alexander (right) lives 11 miles away. Both “face charges of felony aggravated battery in a public place and mob action.”

Wednesday: Five-on-three attack on train

“A man was assaulted and robbed of his iPhone and wallet aboard a CTA train on the Near North Side Wednesday afternoon,” according to NBC.

“People were screaming for help,” said witness Andrew Webb. “One of the guys was bleeding, another looked like he had a black eye.”

Webb said he was on the Brown Line train when he noticed the five males approached three victims.

This attack came hours after Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy “addressed the media about a crime wave affecting downtown Chicago”:

He said the wild teens that have been running rampant through the Streeterville and Gold Coast neighborhoods are more complex than originally reported.

“There’s a number of different categories that we’re talking about,” McCarthy said. “We’re talking about shoplifting, we’re talking about robbery incidents … but they’re getting lumped in to one category.”

… McCarthy said the department made more than 29 arrests since last weekend. …

Newspapers will not report the races of the victims or suspects.

Thursday: Five people attack… Billy Corgan’s brother?

“The brother of Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan was attacked and robbed of his iPod on his way to work early Thursday morning,” according to NBC.

Jesse Anderson, 35, of Evanston, was leaving the Chicago Red Line station on his way to work when five people punched him and took his iPod and cash, Chicago police said.

A woman in the group grabbed his iPod, he told police, and when he tried to get it back, a man punched him in the face. Members of the group are estimated to be between 15 and 25 years old.

Jesse Anderson is, of course, White. Newspapers will not report the races of the perpetrators.

Appendix: Hey, look — another mob of “teens”

The violence hasn’t stopped, and it’s getting harder and harder to ignore the “race angle.” Reporting on a mob of 50 “teens” attacking a Michigan Avenue Walgreen’s Tuesday (June 21), the Chicago News Report tells us what no major newspaper will — in the headline, even: “Black mob attacks Michigan Avenue Walgreens” (June 23).

Another black mob attack recently hit Chicago’s Michigan Avenue.

Tuesday, June 21, 2011, an estimated 50 teens, described by one source as an African-American mob, robbed the Walgreens at 757 North Michigan Avenue.

How awful, how raciss of them to report this fact. This obvious fact. This fact that demands an explanation — and no, speculating about “White racism” doesn’t count. This fact that could save lives if more people knew it and — oh, sorry. That would be racial profiling.

Tribune: “Black” Is to “Criminal” As “Muslim” Is to “Terrorist”

Chicago is under attack by packs of wild Blacks (that’s “groups of people who are (a) wild and (b) Black”), and Dawn Turner Trice of the Tribune is worried about racism. No, not Black criminals targeting White people. In “Mob attacks: Fear, too, is often skin deep” (rating: 1.5 stars) she disregards that inconvenient fact, just like she disregards the victims — the actual victims of actual crimes — so she can devote 450 words to condemning future potential racial profiling (which is justified) and Chicago residents’ fear of Black thugs (which is also justified).

I am the mother of a 16-year-old daughter. But if I had a 16-year-old son instead, I wouldn’t want him to hang out downtown with his buds this summer. I’d be afraid the group would be racially profiled.

Yes, Ms. Trice is Black, and she’s terribly frightened her hypothetical son would be subject to greater police scrutiny — that’s suspicious looks — and maybe even questioning (the horror!), just because he (hypothetically) happens to be a member of a visually distinguishable population with an outrageously high crime rate compared to non-members (even after controlling for poverty, unemployment, and lack of education — you know, all those bullshit liberal excuses for Black thugs). Sort of like how men have a high crime rate compared to women, which of course is exactly why Ms. Trice isn’t concerned about her (actual) daughter suffering racial profiling.

Logic, Ms. Trice: try it sometime.

Last weekend, a mob of youths attacked people in Streeterville and along the Gold Coast and the lakefront. The group’s activities have sparked an array of emotions and a whole lot of conversation, at the core of which is: How does a person become part of a marauding band that attacks a 68-year-old?

Speak for yourself. The core of my conversation is: When are the Chicago police going to realize that they’ll get accused of “racism” no matter what they do, so they might as well be proactive and treat Blacks the way they claim they’re being treated now, for instance by questioning every young Black man found wandering around a White part of town at night. Now that might actually prevent crime.

Whatever the explanation, we won’t find the answer in their race. And yet, that’s exactly where some people have been searching. And though the phrase “flash mob” has been used for attacks like this — creating an aura of something that happened quickly — the ramifications are complex and anything but cut and dried.

We won’t find the answer in their race? Well, that settles that. By the way, according to the 2000 census, Chicago is 36.77 percent Black, 4.35 percent Asian, and 41.97 percent White (including some Hispanics). Northwestern University estimates there were 15–20 attackers (CBS Chicago), and at least 5 attacks occurred over the weekend in question (Chicago Tribune). If a randomly-selected mob of 15 people attacked 5 random victims every day in Chicago, then by chance the attackers would all be Black and their victims White or Asian* an average of once every 423,000 years.

* As far as I can tell, four of the victims were White (one confirmed) and one of them was Japanese — he was one of the two visiting oncologists (Chicago Tribune). The media will not report the victims’ races, but I’m positive they would if they could show that Black thugs were attacking other Blacks. (Can there really be any doubt about this?)

There’s nothing about being black that makes a person inherently predatory. The same is true of being a young black male. It’s too bad that young black men have become the poster children for so many of society’s ills.

Really? There’s nothing about being Black that makes a person inherently** predatory? On what evidence do you base that conclusion, Ms. Trice? You’re obviously wrong about young Black males (testosterone, anyone?). As for Black people in general, please note the following.

1. race is genetic (sources here)
2. all human behavioral traits are heritable (source)
3. criminality is a human behavioral trait (duh)
4. Blacks are more criminal than Whites — more likely to commit crime, especially violent crime, multiple-offender crime, and inter-racial crime (data and sources here)
5. race differences in criminality persist after controlling for socioeconomic status (source, p. 66)
6. there is an 81 percent correlation between the level of violent crime in an area and the proportion of Blacks and Hispanics; this correlation only drops to 78 percent after controlling for poverty, unemployment, and lack of education (source)

** Remember: we at Unamusement Park always speak in probabilities (as in “Blacks are inherently — meaning genetically — more likely to commit crime”), not absolutes (as in “all Blacks are criminals, grrrr I hate them SO MUCH”), because — well, because we’re not idiots, and we understand means and correlations and other such things.

What happened over the weekend appears to have been vicious crimes of opportunity — totally senseless acts carried out by totally senseless people.

Let’s review some of the details of these “crimes of opportunity,” which occurred in Streeterville, about 6 to 13 miles from the homes of the three Blacks charged as adults with felony robbery and mob action. From the Tribune:

The first victim, insurance salesman Krzysztof Wilkowski, 34, said he was sitting on his motor scooter checking his cellphone around 8:30 p.m. when he was hit in the head with a baseball, which knocked his helmet off.

“The next thing I know is I’m being hit by the helmet, then being dragged into the street,” Wilkowski said. “I couldn’t believe it. It was broad daylight outside, there were people around, and this happened.”

Moments later, Singer, who was sitting on a park bench smoking a cigar and typing an email, was attacked by members of the same group. The teens then ran east to Lake Shore Drive, where they allegedly attacked the doctor from Japan and two other people along the bike path just south of Chicago Avenue.

Well, those sure sound like “crimes of opportunity” to me! You were saying, Ms. Trice?

Still, race has been and will be front and center. Going forward this summer, some gatherings of black kids will almost certainly be singled out. We’ve heard of “driving while black.” Well, we can prepare for “walking while black” or “sitting on a bench while black.”

Thank God!

I don’t envy the police who have to balance keeping downtown safe for the city’s residents and tourists while remaining racially sensitive. It’s as difficult a task as trying to predict who’s going to slip a bomb into his or her shoe and get on an airplane.

No comment necessary.

It’s too bad that the young black guys who are strivers and law-abiding continue to be rendered invisible by the bad guys.

“Black thugs are attacking White people? Oh, won’t someone please think of the poor striving Black men, and how those awful White people keep rendering them invisible by forcing the bad — I’m sorry, morally disadvantaged Black men to roam around their neighborhoods, beating and robbing them. I mean, what were they thinking? Flaunting their Blackberries and iPads and oncology conventions, and just a twenty-minute drive from the ghetto!”

Obvious racial bias: Black thugs target White people. Less obvious racial bias: Black reporter cares more about “young black guys who are strivers” being “rendered invisible” by (White) racists than she does about actual victims of actual crimes.

And yet, I know fear is real. And mobs in general, and mobs of young black men in particular, spark fear. I have felt it.

We all are hardwired for survival mode. We want to categorize and try to figure out who the bad guys are. We look for cues and clues, and race just happens to be an easy one. But our answer to why a terrible crime was committed can’t be distilled down to race alone.

Ms. Trice? I’m Doctor Unamused. I’m afraid you have a bad case of the SLAWBs — that’s Stupid, Liberal, Anti-White Bigotry. It’s common among African-Americans. Symptoms include:

• inability to think clearly when it comes to Blacks
• repetitive chanting (“racism… racism… racism…”)
• writing for the Tribune

What’s that? A cure? Well… it’s risky, very risky, but many patients respond positively to prolonged exposure to inner-city youths.

The ones that survive the treatment, that is.
